I am Moving Forward in Truth and Righteousness.

Mark 10: 46-51

” And they came to Jericho and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, bind Bartimaeus (which means son of Timaeus) , was sitting by the road side begging.

When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout, ” Jesus Son of David have mercy on me!“

Many rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, ” Son of David, have mercy on me!“

Jesus stopped and said ”call him”.

So they called to the blind man, ”cheer up! On your feet ! He‘s calling you.“ Throwing his garment aside, he jumped to his feet and came to Jesus.

”What do you want me to do for you?“

Jesus asked him. The blind man said, ”Lord “. I want to see“. ”Go“ said Jesus your faith has healed you.“

Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road.

LESSONS:

Bartimaeus was at a right place at the right time. He was in alignment with the will of God for he already had faith in Jesus and God’s promises.

When he heard that Jesus was passing by, he seized the moment and asked for mercy even when others tried to stop him. He asked for his sight to be restored.

He was very respectful And called Jesus Son of David and Lord , he acknowledged the authority of Jesus .

Jesus was merciful, compassionate and he received his sight and followed Jesus.

As a beggar he needed so many things, but he only asked for his sight to be restored why?

He understood how the Holy Spirit works, one thing at a time.

He knew that once his sight was restored it was going to be very easy to have the other things that he needed in life.

Whenever he sat begging he wore a coat by law and when Jesus called him to come to him, he left it behind why??

Because it represented his past life , the life of a beggar. What have you left behind??

Prayer

Lord Jesus, king of glory. Show me mercy like you showed Bartimaeus, restore to me the marriage that you ordained for me before time began. Just as it is written in the book of psalm 139:16.

Lord Jesus remember your slave girl, may you reunite us by your great mercy.

In Jesus‘s name .
